About the role
We create live experiences powered by robotics. Our performance robots appear in front of real audiences at events where reliability and timing matter as much as spectacle. As a Robot Operator, you are the person who brings these machines to life in the moment: rehearsing them, bringing them to shows, running them during shows, and ensuring safety. You are also the person who makes sure the event around the robots runs smoothly β the logistics, the paperwork, and the coordination with everyone else on site.
Key responsibilities
Operate performance robots live during public-facing events, executing cues accurately and on time
Set up robotics before the show and pack down and secure the robots after each performance
Run pre-show checks, function tests, and safety verifications; escalate issues before they reach an audience
Troubleshoot simple faults quickly under time pressure
Enforce safety exclusion zones, e-stop discipline, and crowd-separation protocols whenever robots are energized near people
Support the liaison with venue staff, and event organizers before and during each booking to confirm space, power, flooring, access routes, and timings
Attend site visits and technical walkthroughs where required, and flag any venue constraints early
Brief client-side staff and volunteers on what the robots do, what they must not do, and where the safety boundaries sit
Support load-in, load-out, and transport of robots, including packing, securing, and unpacking flight cases and equipment
Prepare and maintain event documentation, complete post-event reports, track and submit expenses, timesheets, and travel bookings accurately and on time
